Candy Cane Reindeer
Nov 21st, 2011 by Craftylocks

This makes a neat decoration for the tree or a gift for children to give to friends and family, although if you want them to give it away you may have to make extra so they can keep one as well!!

You will need …

Brown card
Red paper
2 eyes
1 red glitter pom pom
Glue
Scissors
Craft knife
2 wrapped candycanes

On the brown card, cut out one reindeer head, two ears, and one strip.

With a pencil, mark where the cuts will be made and using a craft knife cut the slits in the head to fit the strip through and across the top for the candycanes to slide into.

Weave the strip through the head so that you have both tags sticking out of the front of the head.

Turn the head over and pull the tags out so the candy-canes can fit through.

Glue the ears to the tags at the front of the head. Push the candy-canes through the slits at the top of the head and through the tags at the back of the head.

Cut ear detail out of the red paper and stick to the ears. Glue on the eyes and nose and the reindeer is now looking way too cute to be eaten … or is it??

Paper Gratitude Garland
Nov 11th, 2011 by Craftylocks

This gratitude garland craft is great for Mothers or Fathers day or for Thanksgiving. It is a simple but thoughtful craft which requires no glue so can be done anywhere.

You need paper cut into strips, the paper can be patterned on one side but it needs to be plain on the other so that you can write on it. You also need a pen and small stickers.

On each of the strips of paper write one of the things you are grateful for.

Make a loop with the first strip and use a small sticker to secure the ends together.

Loop the next strip through the first and secure with a sticker.

Continue until all the strips of paper are used.

Egg Carton Decorations
Nov 6th, 2011 by Craftylocks

Is it too early for this sort of craft? No, I didn’t think so either:-).

Recycle your egg cartons to make these very cool bell decorations. They are simple to make, and with the pipe cleaner hangers, they are also very simple for small hands to hang on the tree.

As well as the egg cartons you need some tin foil and pipe cleaners.

Cut the cups out the egg cartons and tear or cut out some pieces of tin foil. Poke the pipe cleaner hooks through the base of the egg cups to make the hook. Wrap the egg cartons with the tin foil and it is ready to hang.
