You need an empty toilet roll or roll of cardboard, some sheets of orange, brown, yellow and green paper, brown pencil or crayon, and scissors and glue stick
Cut the toilet roll a bit shorter. Roughly scribble over the orange, brown and yellow paper with the brown crayon.
Coat the outside of the cardboard roll in glue.
This next bit was a bit of a challenge as it required thinking backwards and inside out! With the scribble side up, roll the orange sheet of paper around the cardboard roll. Glue the overlap in place but just along the length of the cardboard roll, not all the way up the sheet of paper.
Repeat with the yellow and then the brown sheets of paper remembering to coat each layer with glue the width of the cardboard roll. You should end up with what looks like a plain brown roll. Leave to dry for a bit. I staggered the edges so that I did not end up with too many layers in one place.
Using your scissors, cut 1cm strips through all the layers of paper and down to the cardboard roll.
Spread glue liberally around the inside edge of the toilet roll and peel back each strip of brown paper and glue it in place. Try to glue the strips so they create the skeleton of a circle. Leave to dry for a few minutes.
Repeat the process for the yellow and orange layers, remembering to apply glue to the inside edge of the cardboard roll between layers.
You should end up with a lovely pumpkin shape that has the brown scribbles showing.
Finally, roll the green A4 sheet of paper into a tube narrower than the cardboard roll. Pop it through the off-cut of cardboard roll and let is spring out. Glue one edge 6cm up the tube of paper to secure. Flatten the other end and roughly cut into a leaf shape.
Pop into the center of your pumpkin and then curl the leaves to suit.
