Flower Paper Garland
April 12th, 2010 by Craftylocks

A concertina chain of flowers that go on forever, or as long as your paper – whichever comes first!fold-out_flowers

This is one of the classic paper crafts for children, I loved it as a kid and I still love it. Super simple to make, all you need is paper and scissors and then if you want to decorate it – some pens, glitter, more paper, etc. I have used plain pink paper but it is also great with crepe paper which is made in handy dandy long lengths.

fold-out_flowers-closeFold a strip of the paper up accordion style and then draw a shape or picture onto the top of the paper ‘stack’, it must go all the way to each side of the paper. Any shape is fine as long as it joins on the sides. Cut the shape out through all the layers, making sure that the sides are not cut out. Open it up and you should have chain of shapes, if you do not, try again and this time make sure that the sides are not cut out:-).

Although this is really easy I have still made a Fold Out Garland Tutorial and a PDF Worksheet – Fold Out Paper Garland to print out so that you can show your children the steps if you wish.
